Can beginner bloggers ACTUALLY make money with a new blog?

How is it possible with little to no traffic??

That is a question that is frequently asked by new bloggers before starting their blog and honestly, it’s a good query.

There’s nothing wrong with earning some extra money by providing value through blogging, even if you’re new to the blogging world.

Well, guess what?

It IS possible to make money blogging right from the start!

Here are some of the fastest, easiest, and most profitable ways you can make money with a new blog (even if you’re just a beginner).

The most common way that beginner bloggers earn money is through displaying advertisements on their blog.

This the most direct and effortless way to make money on your blog because you don’t have to sell anything. You simply place the ads on your blog and get paid for every click or impression that gets generated from your blog!

There are a few ad networks out there but the most common during the early stage is Google Adsense. It’s pretty simple to set up and there is no qualifying amount of traffic required.

Most bloggers move on to other ad networks such as Mediavine or Adthrive once they reach a certain traffic threshold. The reason for this is because those ad networks pay a higher rate per impression/click.

You want to be careful not to over-do the placement of ads on your website though.

It may distract your readers from your content and disrupt the user experience, so make sure you place them strategically if you decide to do so.

Affiliate Marketing

Another popular way to make money through blogging is via affiliate marketing, that is, by selling other people’s products.

The general idea is you get a tracking link that is unique to you for a product/service. If someone makes a purchase through your link, you get paid a commission.

There are several affiliate networks that you can join as a beginner, such as Amazon Associates, ShareAsale or Rakuten.

You can also be an affiliate to individuals too, such as bloggers who own e-courses.

Affiliate marketing is LOVED by many because you don’t have to go through the hassle of creating your own product!

You sell other people’s products/services by recommending it to your readers in a natural way.

Often, the products will have sales funnels already created by the owner, so all you have to do is direct your audience to the page that will do the sales pitch for you!

And the best thing about affiliate marketing is that you do NOT need a ton of traffic going to your blog to start making affiliate sales.

As long as you have an audience that TRUSTS you and you are providing VALUE to them, affiliate marketing will be a breeze for you.

When I started my first blog, affiliate marketing seemed so daunting and overwhelming, and I stayed away from it for too long.

Now thinking about all the money I practically left on the table, I totally regret not implementing it earlier!

Selling your own products

Another great way to earn money from your blog, even as a beginner, is by selling your own digital products!

If you do it right, digital products can sell like crazy!

There are lots of things you could sell. You could sell eBooks, printables, planners, e-courses, checklists, stock photos, WordPress themes, fonts, social media templates… the list goes on.

The good thing about selling your own product is you have control of everything.

You can even take on your very own affiliates to help you promote your product!

Sponsored Posts

Doing sponsored posts is another way you could make money blogging.

You basically get paid by a brand/business for writing a post about them or featuring their product/service.

When your blog starts to pick up more engagement and traffic, brands approach you directly in most cases.

But in the beginning, you can try approaching brands to do a sponsored post about products that fits in with your niche and which your readers would find valuable.

Freelance/Coaching/VA work

Because you are providing lots of valuable information through your blog, you are seen as an expert in your niche.

If you have a certain expertise in something or a particular skill that could be turned into a service to help others, then you can consider making money by promoting that service on your blog!

There are many bloggers who do this and they provide services such as coaching, freelance writing, consulting or graphic design.

Offering your expertise as a means of earning money has a high-profit margin because you’re essentially selling your time and not a physical product.

The downside is that your service would be limited to the amount of time you have available to work.

As your traffic stream increases, your email subscriber list grows and your online presence expands, you’ll be equipped to make even more money!

The beauty of the blogging business is that your earning potential is limitless.

There are so many things you can explore and tap into, it’s just up to you do get it done!
